Uh, unless something changed in the last hour or so he's full of shit. App permissions are still there every time you hit the update button.

😀Haven't you seen those Facebook "trivia" apps asking you to answer questions about your friends? Yeah...I never accept those, but third parties are still piecing-together a picture of my personal life because everyone else on Facebook is gullible and STUPID to know better.
Oh well, there's simply no privacy on the Internet now...so I don't fool myself into thinking there is.
Even more so since the richest companies can simply buy the government that they want. Our government only regulates consumers, not companies. Even more so since FB just hands them over any info they want.
This snafu won’t come as a surprise to researchers who brought up Facebook’s shadow profiles long before this most recent breach. In 2011, an Irish advocacy group filed a complaint against Facebook for collecting information like email addresses, phone numbers, work details, and other data to create shadow profiles for people who don’t use the service. Since it actually takes moral fortitude to resist the social pull of Facebook, this is a slap in the face for people who make a point to stay off the network: The group claimed that Facebook still has profiles for non-Facebookers anyway.
I don't use my real name or post my phone number. I tell people what name to search for to add me, or vice versa.
Facebook recently announced that it fixed a bug that inadvertently revealed this hidden contact information for six million users. Their mea culpa was not particularly well-received, since this security breach revealed that the social network had been collecting this data on all of its users and compiling it into shadow profiles for years. Some people who use Facebooks Download Your Information (DYI) tool could see the dossiers Facebook had been collecting as well as information their friends put up themselves. So, if I downloaded my information and was affected by the bug, Id see some of the email addresses and phone numbers of my friends who did not make that information public.
I went to Play using my computer and I do not see any permissions listed.Uh, unless something changed in the last hour or so he's full of shit. App permissions are still there every time you hit the update button.
I'm sure they'll still hang onto everything you had stored there.
