in the defense of the lady that got hit, to me it seemed like they thought the train that was responsible for the bell and horns was the train in the closest track that was almost already stopped so they thought it would be ok to cross now. the other train that hit her was blocked from view until they were already out on the tracks. didnt look like she was looking for any other trains, just the one in plain sight that was stopped.

Deathkoba, you saw theres more angles of this? I wonder why so many people videotape trains coming and going. is it that common for people to get hit that people bring cameras with them now to catch it? or maybe it was tourists with video cameras?

Yes, there are people who just like to take videos of trains. They aren't expecting anyone to get hit.

The vast majority of people killed by trains are in cars, not on foot. Some try to beat the train to the crossing and lose. And believe it or not, many of them drive into the side of a train which is already occupying the crossing! A lot of times these are people who live in the area and subconsciously believe they "know" the train schedule, and don't think a train would be coming at that particular time. Turns out that most trains don't run on any "schedule".

There are quite a few crossings where I live and it's not unusual for people to stop right on the tracks while waiting for a traffic light to change. I can't imagine what those people are thinking (or not thinking).

I know living in the south for several years tht not all train crossings have barriers that come down. Some did not even have sounds just a wooden rail road crossing sign.

I think it's real. I saw a banned for tv tape a few years ago and as far as I recall this was in the ad for it, though the final full scene didn't make the banned for TV. Anyway I think it happened.

when i was single i lived about half a block from some train tracks. Me and a buddy used to sit on the roof and shoot drunks with oure pellet guns (yeah i know that was dumb) one night we seen a guy in a suzuki sidekick try to go around the crossing arms. He got hit, it flew into a light pole and snapped it then bounced back into the train and dragged. We ran down and there was blood everywhere. the guy was in pretty bad shape.

Though i think he survived for a few days.
