Think this relationship will last?

One of the individuals I supervise at work just proposed to his girlfriend, that he's known for 4 months. She said yes, he was happy. Then, as they began planning the wedding, he decided that they would honeymoon at a local 3 star hotel. 😕

Remember, he is active duty military, there are some really good deals on travel and vacation packages available, and he chooses a local hotel. She has never left the state in her life, rarely even leaving the Phoenix area and, apparently, doesn't want to leave either.

I must be really stupid, because, I say spend as little as possible on the wedding, anything more than a courthouse marriage is a waste of time and money that would be better spent on better things, such as a kick ass honeymoon. A Caribbean or Mediterranean cruise, for example. Heck, even going to a fancy location in the US would be better than driving down the street a few miles.

Why wouldn't it?

The marriage is to exchange vows and make a sacred promise to god and your friends and merged family. To me that is a lot more important than a fancy vacation.
