think this is too much stuff for an Antec 430W PS?

430W is more hten enough with some wattage to spare. 🙂 the x800 pro uses about as much power as the 9800 pro.

Just a thought if your in the market for a new PS, spend the extra bucks and get one that will do the job for your NEXT computer build, rather than get one for your present sys. That way you won't have to buy another one at that time. Food for thought.

thanks for your replies. I'm trying to pin down a problem w/the video card and thought the PS might be it. I'm getting some bad textures now in HL2 after about 15 minutes, and Far Cry locked up on me after about the same time. these problems are new since I reformatted w/the new hard drives. maybe it's a cooling problem. strangely though I unplugged one HD and now Far Cry runs fine. maybe coincidence.

does sound like a power issue then, plug the hard drive back in and does the problem still exist. Kinda weird. Check my sig, all of that is running off of a 441watt enermax.
