Well, I finally decided to upgrade this computer, and I went with a P1.6a /w a MSI 845 Ultra. USB 2.0 and onboard sound plus a price $3 cheaper then the P4B266-a drove me back to MSI. Somehow I always seem to end up buying/reccomending a MSI board. Anways . . .

About 5 minutes after placing the order, I realized my error. I have an Antec 300 watt power supply, which does not have the 12V connector. I know that (some/all?) motherboards can run without this connector, but how much of a difference does it make with overclocking? Or did I really screw up and this board in fact absolutly needs the 12V connector?

🙁

Fry's electronics sells a P4 12 volt (square) adapter that plugs into any 4 pin power supply connector for about $3. You should be able to find it online somewhere if your local pc dealer doesn't have it.
