:( think I may have a dry socket

As many of you know I recently had my wisdom teeth removed. Well it looks like I may have a dry socket. There is no visible blood clot after nearly 36 hours, and there is still some oozing of blood, which I think means I will have a dry socket. 🙁 No significant pain yet from it, but I am anticipate lots of pain from it.

Don't put up with the pain if it comes. Your dentist might even treat dry socket free of charge. If you don't want to return to your dentist, clove oil will give much needed relief.

Go back to your dentist if you start getting bad pain. I had a suture open on one of mine and food got caught up in there. Wasn't dry sockets but still incredibly painful. Not worth trying to tough things out when they can likely help.

If there is no blood clot, I would make a new blood clot. I would warn you it would hurt. Also, they can put in the dry socket paste if you have pain. But if you take pain meds, it should be ok in a few days. I am a dentist.

Is there any chance for the bleeding that is happening now to clot?

Yes, if it's still bleeding, put pressure on a tea bag. If it is just oozing, just give it a few days. If it's not hurting, you don't have dry socket. Stop being a pussy and man up!

dude, quit bitching about dry socket. avoid retarded shit like drinking through a straw and spitting and you will be fine. very few people actually get it. if you ARE worried about it, contact your oral/maxillofacial surgeon, thats what hes there for. i had the surgery and everything was fine since i followed his directions. this shouldnt even be an issue.

Stop making so many threads about this. One thread is enough. Call it "wisdom teeth removal", or "DCal gets things cut out of his mouth", or "DCal dehydrates himself and panics about a very rare condition", or... you get the point.

Also, quit worrying and bitching about dry socket.
1) Do not smoke
2) Do not use a straw
3) Do not spit
There, no dry socket.

As for the rest of getting the teeth removed, find yourself a bunch of good movies, sit your ass down on the couch, and watch movies for a few days. Get one of those nice ice bag pouches that you can wrap around your head, and keep icing frequently. If your food requires chewing, well, you're eating the wrong stuff.

In a few more days you can resume your normal trolltastic posting manner.

Or you can just retitle one thread and call it "DCal's wisdom teeth adventure: How he showed all of ATOT that he is a pussy"

Quit bitchin.

<-----Had his wisdom teeth taken out by a military dentist (we called it the dental hobby shop), so I don't want to hear shit.

Why because I am worried about a dry socket? Which has been described as being worst than shot by a gun. The most painful experience imaginable.
You seem to have *willed* yourself to get a dry socket. Stop over analyzing, and go see your dentist. I doubt you have one.

Man up dude. My 16 year old stepdaughter just had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed 3 weeks ago. She was back at cheerleading practice 2 days later doing roundoff back handsprings and not taking anything but tylenol.

The older you are the worse it is and some people have it a lot worse than others. Granted, Dcal is probably just whining.

blech. I had a dry socket when my wisdom teeth came out too. hurt like a motherfucker and oozed puss, which is surprisingly salty. called the dentist and he had me come in. fixed it up no charge.

I've never heard or seen anyone bitch about dry socket until I came to ATOT. Stop being such a pussy.

Jesus Christ... OP is seriously scared of milk and water?

Take that yellow chuck of milk, pick it up by hand and and stuff it down your throat like a man. If it doesn't kill you...
