Got home a bit ago and decided to check my email.....while I was reading it a friend popped on IM and we started a conversation.....I think I pissed her off pretty badly. Tell me.....was I being an ass? I can't tell right now because I've had a bit too many to drink...

SHINERBURKE: Ok....isn't that weird since you two used to date and then had that big blow up at Fridays? I was there for that remember?..Have you forgotten his yelling at you and then slapping you? Remember Paul having to pull me off the dumbass because I was going to kill him??

JULIE: that was a bad nite he was mad because of work now we are just frinds so its not weird

JULIE: we are just friends so it isn't a big deal i'm not hitting on him till he hits on me

SHINERBURKE: Good grief....how long are you going to play this game?

JULIE: it's not a game i'm not going to say anything to him and get rejected

SHINERBURKE: Then why do you put yourself through it?

JULIE: cuz i really really care for him and want him more than i've wanted any guy since shawn a long time ago

SHINERBURKE: Why? I've never understood that? He walked all over you and hurt you yet you still want more

JULIE: well a lot of that is my communication issue...i should have said something to him back when i knew for sure he liked me and when he told paul he thought about mme

JULIE: instead when he brought it up i freaked out and changed the subject and never allowed it to be brought up again

JULIE: so when he dated that chick it hurt but i never said anything

SHINERBURKE: You can't continue to lay they blame on yourself. Even when you were "dating" he wasn't good to you.... He yelled at you all the time, cheated on you, treated you like crap, and only called you when he was bored and horny. Why would you want to go back to that?

JULIE: we were never dating

JULIE: we were just always good friends that had meaningful overnight relationships...LOL that is what we called it

JULIE: i thought back then that i could handle the friends hooking up thing, but i was wrong and never said anything

SHINERBURKE: Ok..call it whatever....he used you for sex, treated you like crap, and acted like a spoiled 3 year old.....

JULIE: he has lots of good qualities i never talk about cuz i only talk about him when i'm bitching about something

JULIE: most people don't cuz i never share the good cuz i hate sounding like i'm bragging or something

JULIE: no can do that would cause drama and confrontation and i hate that

JULIE: i'm just going with it and hanging out with him as friends

JULIE: i value his friendship and i'm not going to lose it cuz i have some stupid feelings for him

JULIE: my friend gabe and i used to hang out a lot and he started to ahve feeligns for me and now we dont' hang out hardly ever anymore

JULIE: same reason i couldn't back then....not good at bringing that stuff up don't want to hear rejection

JULIE: wish i had the communication skills kara at work has she is awesome at bringing that stuff up with her guys

SHINERBURKE: Well you need to do it....playing this game you are is bad for you. It's silly....get things out and get it resolved one way or another

JULIE: i just figure i'll hang out with him and if it was meant to be it will happen and in the mean time i just go on dates with others in case he and i aren't meant to be

SHINERBURKE: But you never give these other guys a chance because you are waiting on him. That isn't healthy or right. You can't pussy around about stuff like this. You need to get it out in the open

JULIE: i'm not holding anything back if asked anymore...like if he brings up something i'd normaly change the subject of i don't change it now i talk

SHINERBURKE: Trust me Julie....I didn't get to be my age without making a lot of dating mistakes. I know what I'm talking about.

JULIE: so if he asks me anything about my feelings or whatever since he will probably hear it from daniel anyways i'll answer him instead
of freaking out

SHINERBURKE: He shouldn't have to ask you. You should tell him you want to talk and get it out. You two are just dancing around playing head games with each other right now and that isn't good for either of you

JULIE: besides that i heard him on the phone with his friend one night and he was saying how he isn't ready for a relationship right now cuz he wants to get his own head straightened out first before bringing somebody else into his life

SHINERBURKE: That's the oldest cop out in the book.

Yeah, but she sounds like one of those "battered-wife" syndrome girls, thinking everyone is good and that its mainly her fault.

I know someone like that and it pisses me off. I dont care to hide my disgust with it.
 
You might have pissed her off, but you also told her the truth (which she didn't want to confront) and that's the sign of being a good friend. As you said, "oh well" but it sounds like you care about her, so maybe things aren't just "oh well"?

I guess oh well wasn't the best thing to say....I meant it as more of a wouldn't be the first time kind of thing. She and I are good friends and as such usually tell it like it is with each other....as a result we frequently piss each other off.....kind of a brother/sister thing I guess
