Think I can "pricematch" with an orthodontist?

I went to see an orthodontist about getting Invisalign...will only take 6 months, but cost $4900.

Since everyone offers free consultations I scheduled a couple elsewhere just to get some other opinions and see if the pricing differs.

I'd rather stick with the first doctor, as he seems like a nice guy who knows what he's doing.

If another doctor quotes me substantially less (like $500+) think I'll have any luck getting a "pricematch" :D

Nope. Because really, you're not paying for the product, you're paying for the doctor's skill and experience.

Agreed - anyone can cement some metal into your mouth (or click some plastic onto your teeth), but getting your teeth straight quickly and healthily is a skill that you'll pay dearly for.

No pricematch.

If I ever need open heart surgery or need to have a brain tumor removed I am going to pricematch and dicker to get the lowest price I can. Those assbytes don't deserve all the money they make just for cutting a little flesh. Hell, I'll bet my buddy who works as a butcher could do it just as well.

Well, I thought Invisalign would be a little different. While it definitely requires expertise, the Invisalign company does most of the work and the orthodontist is more of a salesman/supervisor than with traditional braces.
