No way you'll get a V6 OTD for 22k-23k. You are looking at around $1500 in taxes alone. Now factor in title & license.

For a V6 you are probably looking at 24k OTD at a minimum.

Not likely. In the market for a 4WD SUV, quotes for RAV 4's have been HIGH.

CR-V's, much cheaper.

I suggest getting a Jeep cherokee. They may be cheap, but you can pick one up for around $7k used and it's pretty cheap to repair in the event that something major happens to it. Plus, I used to use mine to haul a boat....it's got a nice 190hp 4.0L engine.

The Cherokee is great for offroading, but extremely crude. Some report them to be very reliable while some have endless problems with them. The RAV4 is a totally different animal. If you can manage to get one with a V6 and 4wd at the price you're asking, your mercantile skill must be at the master level.
