Even without the coins it will make a very loud noise and in my case wake up the people sleeping next to me before it wakes me up. :p

Also, set multiple alarms, a minute apart
3:00 am
3:01 am
3:02 am

This may sound strange, but at the back of your mind, if you ignore the first one, you know there's another coming right away. It works for me

Mine just vibrates until you dismiss it. ;)

Its not supposed to hit the coins, its sposed to vibrate the table which vibrates the coins! :p

What wakes me up in a flash though (if you have a spring matress), is if i put the phone under my pillows, when it vibrates the springs reverberate and make the vibrating sound so loud!

Lol, yea i don't make a habit of it! Sometimes i wake up early and grab my phone and put it under my pillow cos i dont wanna reach down to the floor again, then i get a text and i literally jump off of the matress and the first thing i feel is my heart jumping out of my chest.
Ever since that happened a couple of times i can't stand the sound of my old phone vibrating! hah

So true. I even set an alarm clock across the room to wake me up, and sometimes I'd crawl out of bed, turn it off (not snooze, I'd hit the tiny, hard to hit off switch) and crawl back into bed. I need more willpower :(
