I think hashtags are pretty lame, but I like Twitter more than any other social platform out there.

People who use hashtags always seem to either be people who are noobs on the Internet (parents, grandparents, etc.) or people who want attention (re: selfies). With every word now being a hashtag due to our advanced search capabilities, I don't really see the point anymore. Even on trending topics on Twitter, it will search stuff without the hashtag sign in front of the word or phrase.

I'm convinced that it is a conscious decision to be like this, since I see these people of all ages, including teenagers. I hate them.
