If you include the cheapest $59.99/mo service plan for the minimum two year service contract, that iPhone is going to cost you at least $1,940 before taxes.

Think of what you can get with THAT!</end quote></div>

Your logic is flawed, every cell phone needs service.</end quote></div>

I'm only paying $35 a month for my Verizon service, though, and I got a free camera phone with just a 1 year contract. BIG difference in price, and I have the same 450 minute + tons of night/weekend minutes plan that the $60 a month iPhone users have.

Those are the two most obvious ones that I'd buy in place of an iPhone.

LOL the dealer said it would be around $450 to fix my car's AC. Hmmm ... I think I would get that fixed instead of the iPhone, or probably most things with an i in front of their names.

8 Samsung BlackJacks 😛
Way more functional than the iPhone could ever hope to be. No MMS or 3G (don't give me that "EDGE is 3G" bullshit, EDGE is GPRS on steroids; GPRS is 2.5G) on a $599 phone is completely unacceptable.

My $600 would probably just go into the bank and help pay for various expenses over the next 2 years of college.

2 ounces of weed is $600????

Super high quality stuff can fetch almost that much for one oz. Drug war ftl.

Ok then, just bypass the drug war. Seeds, potting soil, and some LED growlights?

no reasonable person will settle with the lowest plan. 30 bucks a month will fetch you like 200 minutes. I don't talk alot and I still need the 49.99 a month with 450 minutes.

imo, the iphone plans are very reasonable.
200 minutes would last me a year.

not really, you are still paying $420 for a "free" low end phone.
its all very "expensive". whether the iphone breaks your budget depends on your wages.

Its not necessesarily about budget breaking either. I can afford an iphone + service contract, but dont want to. I wouldn't want an iphone if it was free with a contract.

You could feed a homeless family of 4 for at least a month.

You could buy school supplies for an entire school in an under privileged area.

A new Jenn Weld front entry door. $627 at Home Depot last night. It was a special order though so it won't be in for two weeks.

GPS units are cheap now! You could get 2 or 3 good ones (or 3 or 4 cheap ones) for $600.
