I'll be there with my friends next week. Any ideas other than seeing the Capitol and Lincoln Memorial?

Georgetown or Adams Morgan. I also like great falls park. You could go to a wizards game.

Ya it kinda depends on what you and your friends are into, and whether you're asking day/night activities.

DuPont Circle's alright, too. Adam's Morgan is fantastic for bar hopping. If you want to catch a show of some sorts, you can always see if The 9:30 Club has something going on that isn't sold out. Also there's the DC Improv for some comedy.

Holocaust museum. Very sobering. Do not go there if you plan on going out and doing something fun afterwards (Let's go see what Hitler did then hit the clubs!) You absolutely cannot miss it.

thanks for the suggestions.
we're basically looking for places to see during the day, and maybe go to clubs/bar at night.

If you've never been, the Zoo is great this time of year, and the pandas just got a new habitat.

Or you could swing by the Farragut West metro and we'll go to Smith & Wollensky for lunch FTW!

you can spend several days just at the smithsonian buildings, if you take your time to look at everything

that'd actually be kind of fun since I've never gotten to attend one as of yet. I just moved out here about 4 months ago. :)

tip: use the metro because parking and traffic are a chore.

I think that goes for all of the DC area ;)

While I wouldn't mind grabbing some lunch with fellow ATOTers, spending the night in jail with y'all might be a bit much.

Just remember, I think you can legally be shot at for not wearing at a minimum two collared shirts, with both collars popped, preferably pink and black. :p

See the national mall at 3am.

it is....

1) beautiful
2) eerily dark, considering how security concious we are in major cities today
3) an easy way to score bonus points boinking your gf. Boinking a woman on the side of the reflection pool is on my list of things to do before I die.

We went on a family vacation shortly after the musuem opened. My mom got a little spooked while we were there, because my brother and I(I think 10 and 11 at the time) were in a section where they had passages written by children who had died in the holocaust/ little scenes of what life was like. We were walking through and reading the little stories, I'd love to go back and experience it as an adult.

I think we spent 3 days going to the smithsonian and did'nt see it all, that's worth checking out, maybe break up your museuming with trips to other neaby stuff so you don't get too worn out on walking.
