cool, i always wanted to check out the smithsonian.

Don't know about an ATOT meet since I'm not sure what the plans are right now. The nyc meet was fun and it'd be cool to meet DC atoters.

it looks like it takes 15 min to drive from the route 193 entrance to the end of the park???

and the $20 annual pass is only good at this park and the c&O park in md?

thought a $20 pass get you entrance to ALL national parks in the US?

what else is there to do at this park besdies the 2 overlooks?

Try not to get yourself lost in southeast D.C. or northeast D.C for that matter.

Arlington is something I hope everyone can go see. The Pentagon has a 9/11 memorial now which should be worth the time. Close to that the Air Force has its new memorial just opened on the Pentagon side of the Potomac, Very Cool imho. Also, I think the Air and Space Annex w/ Imax out at Dulles is worth seeing. They have the space shuttle test bed on display, it was used to test the shuttle flight dynamics by getting carried on a 747 and released at altitude.

Old town Alexandria is ok to walk around one afternoon. You can check out the new Woodrow Wilson bridge from there if your into bridges.

On the way there or back, you could swing by the Dogfish Head brewery in Delaware. The latter would have you obligated to bring me back several items. :)

I would definitely go to the Air & Space Museum. If you have time and transportation, you could also go to the Udvar-Hazy Air & Space Museum at Dulles. Admission is free at both, parking was $12/car at the latter last time I was there. They are both definitely worth seeing. Last time I was at Udvar-Hazy, I saw Burt Rutan and got a sweet picture with him in front of the space shuttle and across from the SR-71.

I think its $5 for entry, but you can park at Scotts Run and walk for free. Also it?s very rocky so people do rock climb, kayak, mountain bike and hike around. If you go to the part by Difficult Run or Scotts Run on the VA side you can swim in waterfalls or jump off rocks (about 20' tall) into the water. It?s definitely a cool place to hang in the summer.
