Things to do in Vegas or nearby (other than gambling)

Wife and I are heading to Vegas in April (she's in a wedding). I like to gamble but she doesn't so I'm trying to find other things for us to do while we are there other than casino hopping.

Any ideas?

Just leave plenty of $$$ behind. Saves us from having an income tax.😱

Did that, only threads about where to stay, gamble. I'm talking about sight seeing and what not.

Trying to limit the gambling. That and I've never left a casino in the red yet!

 
they have shooting ranges where they will rent you full-auto machine guns. That's fun, but expensive

If you like the nightlife in vegas, there are tons of clubs/bars on every block. Mornings are mainly for sleeping.

Hoover dam.
Redrock day hike, bouldering.
There is a little (free) petting zoo near redrock with all kinds of local animals. (goat ate the bottom of my shirt when I went)
Mt Charleston is 45 min from vegas, very nice. (probably too late in the year to ski though, lots of snow right now)
Valley of Fire.
Sequin mine tour. 😉
Ghost town.

Tons-o-stuff to do here.
 
I would recommend a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam, and take in a show like Penn And Teller or Mamma Mia! The fountain show at the Bellagio and the light show at Fremont Street are also must see attractions.

And, if you get a chance to ditch the wife, go to the Crazy Horse. 🙂

Helo Rides start from about $40 per person.
Flyers exist in the lobby of the hotels.

There is also a hotel/casino south of Henderson/Boulder City (justbefore the Hoover dam) that has a helo pad and offers tours.
Grand Canyon (North or South Rim) is at least a day trip unless you wish to make a week-end of it by going down one of the trails.
