So I'll be down in Kansas City, KS for some training soon and was wondering if there any must see things/places there.

I'll be about 5-10 minutes from the airport.

MCI. If I recall, the shuttle bus takes about 10 minutes to go from MCI to the hotel. I will have access to a car as well.

Power and Light District all the way.

This if you want to drink and have good food. "The Plaza" has nice restuarants and bars, as well as shopping. "The Legends" is like the Plaza sort of but not as high end.

Not really a ton to do here :(

Plaza is the way to go here. Jack's Stack has amazing BBQ, and the Classic Cup has a nice lunch menu and patio. If the weather is nice, you'll see more milfs than you can shake a stick at.

The plaza is ~20 minute drive from your hotel, assuming it isn't the opposite direction.

Legends has a Dave and Busters. I can spend a LOT of money there. There's also a minor league park there, I don't know how soon that fires up.

If you're a fan of food network, there are a few restaurants that were on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" Grinder's is good, unique. My favorite is YJ's snack bar in Downtown KC.

pretty slow for events this time of year in KC. There are some great restaurants in KC, but it really depends on your price point, preference, etc.

I had this too, the Cinnamon roll was excellent. The hash, however, was not nearly as good as I was hoping for. Oh well!

I also tried the place down in Paola, KS - meh and the one in Wichita - so so.

We've since moved to Minnesota and are taking a trip to Minneapolis in a couple weekends. We've scouted out all the Triple D places!

Arthur Bryant's for the original BBQ. Westport for drinkin/dancin, Boulevard Brewery for tasty beer action.

shameless plug : Reverse on the plaza and La Bodega on SW blvd :)

but seriously close to MCI (20 miles) and in KCKS take the wifey to:

http://www.chateauavalonhotel.com/index.htm

if you are in downtown KCK, then goto downtown KCMO or Plaza (again on MO side); if you really are in dntown KCK and nowhere to go then the only option is Felitza's on 5th (italian) or maybe cafe bistro on 6th just south of minnesota ave ...

any chance coming to EPA training?
