Dubai is one of the few cities were you can get alcohol pretty easily, it's just super crazy taxed, to the effect of, i think, 30%.

Alcohol is available at clubs and bars so there's no problem finding it if you want it. Bars that you might want to visit, check out Buddha Bar ( overpriced but worth visiting once ) and Barasti ( bar by the beach )..

For shopping, check out the Gold Souq, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Batuta Mall, Bur Juman and I heard the new Dubailand has opened so check that out too... Check out Atlantis, which I've heard is pretty nice and has a bigass aquarium.

In addition to what you mentioned, also try going Dune buggying.. Its a lot of fun and theres a place 40 KM from Dubai city. Don't remember the exact location but if you google it or check with Arabian Adventures, they should be able to help you out. Arabian Adventures is kind of overpriced compared to the other operators but since you visiting, you're better off paying more instead of getting ripped off by some no name operator.

Make sure you smoke some shisha while you're in Dubai.. There are a few good cafes but honestly, even though I smoked a lot at these places this summer, I cant remember their names anymore.. Will let ya know if i remember them.. One of them is in Jumeirah on the Beach road. great place for some good food and to smoke some good shisha..

If your parents are into having good Indian food, check out "Chappan Bhog", "Sukh Sagar" "Govindas" and "Kamat".. These restaurants serve some good Indian fast food and are in the city ( near the Bur Juman mall )..

If you are an adult, absolutely get your own room. Makes no sense to travel to a pretty unique destination if you have to be under rules...or risk having no where to 'go' should opportunity knock.

Really depends on the kind of guy you are though....some are happy seeing sites.

If I were single I'd hit up the night life and try to get laid a few times by chicks from a definitely different culture. Try some of the unique food and alcoholic drinks as well.
