my question is, does anyone else have any experience with this, and what did you do to make sure that the keys were still usable, yet had no access to your personal info? thanks.

~~~ Forum Notice ~~~ Blizzard and Guild Wars Do NOT Allow Sales of Accounts.
This is covered in our FS/T Rules thread, but recent posts sugget a reminder is needed.
Blizzard rules regarding sales of World of Warcraft accounts.
quote:
1. Establishment of a World of Warcraft Account.
E. Blizzard Entertainment does not recognize the transfer of Accounts, and any authorized transfer of the World of Warcraft software (as set forth on the worldofwarcraft.com website) will result in the permanent deletion of the Account attached to that software. You may not offer any Account for sale or trade, and any such offer is a violation of this Agreement and may result in suspension or termination of the Account.
8. Selling of Items.
Remember, at the outset of these Terms of Use, where we discussed how you were "licensed" the right to use World of Warcraft, and that your license was "limited"? Well, here is one of the more important areas where these license limitations come into effect. Note that Blizzard Entertainment either owns, or has exclusively licensed, all of the content which appears in World of Warcraft. Therefore, no one has the right to "sell" Blizzard Entertainment's content, except Blizzard Entertainment! So Blizzard Entertainment does not recognize any property claims outside of World of Warcraft or the purported sale, gift or trade in the "real world" of anything related to World of Warcraft. Accordingly, you may not sell items for "real" money or exchange items outside of World of Warcraft.
Guild Wars: USER AGREEMENT
quote:
3. LICENSE TO USE
Subject to the terms of this Agreement, NC Interactive grants to you, for your personal use only, a non-exclusive, revocable, nontransferable (except as permitted in Section 4(a)) license to use the Service, and a non-exclusive, revocable, nontransferable (except as permitted in Section 4(a)) license to use the Software in connection with the Service, without charge except for new Chapters which will be charged on a prepaid basis according to Section 5.
You may not (a) sublicense, rent, lease, loan or otherwise transfer the Software or the Service (or any part thereof), including without limitation access keys;
This rule also applies to the sale or transfer of ANY account for ANY game where the provider restricts such sales or transfers of interest.
Sorry, folks. Those are their rules, not ours.
hmm thanks, i was talking about selling the actual game (cds, boxes, etc) and just burying my account.
Kind of off topic, but if you're planning to sell the games and never play them again... Why not load them up one last time and give away your weapons, gold, and items? Just walk up to some unsuspecting newbies and give them your goods. Make their day. 🙂
Main problem is the CD-Key Cannot be used again.
Call Blizzard. They do have a procedure for the sale of the software - your account will be permanently wiped, so go gift no0blets until you're running around Ironforge in the buff. Then can your account. 😀
