• An improving economy

Conceded. We should all clap for that.

• A soaring stock market

Eh.

• Americans getting health insurance

Or else.

• Mention of "solar power"

Did anyone clap for that?

• Tax cuts for working families (A tax cut Republicans don't like?)

Conceded.

• Affordable childcare

If it's anything like affordable healthcare, all you have to do is mandate that people buy childcare insurance and the problem is solved.

• Tax cuts for families with children (Another one?)

Conceded.

• Equal pay for women

This myth has been repeatedly, exhaustively, and completely discredited.

• "America has put more people back to work than Europe, Japan, and all advanced economies combined."

If true, conceded. Needs sourcing.

• A "free and open internet"

Which somehow means the internet needs government intrusion.

• Rewarding companies that "invest in America" (C'mon, really?)

If this means subsidies, I don't support this.

• "Working Americans"

...and?

• A resolution for the use of the force against ISIL

Conceded. We need more force, though, if we are serious.

• "Trying something new" with Cuba

Still not sure how I feel about this.

• Acknowledging that climate change exists

Which isn't the issue so much as what's to blame for it.

• Not persecuting "people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender."

Right, because the plight of such people is clearly a problem. I mean, we have people refusing to bake cakes for their wedding. Dear God! How did it come to this?

• Closing Gitmo

Wasn't this supposed to happen like 5 years ago?

• Making "voting easier for every single American"

As long as no one asks for proof that they're American.

Why the hell would anybody vote for Republicans?

I dunno, but they sure freaking seemed to get votes on the last go-round. Clearly they're all deluded fools.

Then why is she messing with kids lunches?

Sorry bub. Your argument might be valid if she didn't try to influence people who are elected and servants.
Because she is trying to use the circumstance she finds herself in to make positive changes for the country? Is this a bad thing?

I notice you haven't acknowledged that you don't know what he was saying either...

I heard he called her a raging wise and beautiful woman.

They did clap when Obama said he doesn't have to campaign anymore..

then they got their asses handed to them

Then why did the dems lose 2 mid-terms? Why do the national polls show that people, in general, aren't happy with what Obama is doing? I'm no fan of the idiot reps, but Obama's last win was 2 years ago; things have changed since then.

Even funnier, the GOP is now posturing as if they are against wealth inequality. They think they can combat wealth inequality without impacting the already wealthy. Good plan guys, I'm sure your well-informed base will gobble that shit up.

Yeh, I can hear it now: "We'll create many more jobs and pay much more, if you'll let the very rich get back $10 more in tax cuts for every $1 it costs to do that. Now that should even things up a bit shouldn't it?"

For the middle class and poor righties that vote, that should really seal the deal and get them voting in such numbers that we'll have another go of it like we did from 2000-2008 with the same end results. ;)

The frequent clapping and standing ovations is frankly embarrassing. The woman who thought she was at a Miley Cyrus concert wildly waving the pencil in the air should have been removed. It's no a f'in sporting event.

How are you not aware that low voter turnout favors the GOP? How are you not aware that midterms typically have lower voter turnout? How are you not aware that the Dems had far more seats at risk in the Senate in 2014? How are you not aware of the fact that all of these factors pointed to the GOP making large gains regardless of how happy people are? Let me guess, you are also blissfully unaware that the GOP has more seats at risk for the 2016 elections and that early projections (the same early projections that predicted the 2014 GOP landslide, mind you) are that the GOP is going to get thumped hard in 2016?

2 words gerrymandering. BTW - Obama was talking about his campaigns.

When Dems lost seats in 2010 nationwide 1 million more people voted for Dems vs GOP.

Why the hell would anyone decide who to vote for based on clapping during the state of the union?

Oh right, because it precludes analysis and "thinking". Those two enemies of the average person's political ego.

This, of course. Sheesh!
