Things that suck about Firefox compared to Avant

Ok, these are just general things that I've noticed comparing Firefox to Avant. I'm only a new user to Firefox, so if I get something wrong, please correct me.

Firefox Cons - Things that Avant has that Firefox does not have.
1. Windows are not tabbed.
2. Does not automatically save user's last opened pages when it exits.
3. Does not have mouse gestures (ex. In Avant you can go back by simply holding down the right mouse button and clicking on the left mouse button. Very convenient because you no longer have to navigate to the arrows at the top.)
4. The menus are not modular. You can't move the address bar around and dock them or things like that.

Avant Cons
1. Based off of Micro$oft IE - Automatic Failure. Self Explanatory.

Basically, I LOVE Avant for the interface and the features but I HATE IE. Firefox is great but does not have the convenience and features of Avant.

I'd really like to just completely uninstall IE but I'm not sure if I could live with Firefox, great as it is, because of the features that it lacks compared to Avant.

tabbrowser extensions has been working very well for me for a while now (was rather buggy). That will take care of saving tab sessions among other things. Saving a group of tabs as a bookmark group is nice.

Huh? There are tabs. Middle click man, middle click.

Get a bigger monitor.

You can't really move the menu bars around like with coolbars in IE, but you can still reorder your toolbars to make them look the way you want. You just have to move each item around individually.

Ok, I've got mouse gestures working, but tabbed browsing is a pain. Is there any way to make Firefox completely tabbed? As in links that open in a new window will open up in a new tab, and pressing CTRL-n, not CTRL-t, will open up a tabbed window?

MIDDLE CLICK. It's natural, we've been using the third button for decades now.

Use the source. ctrl t is easy anyways.

Oh sh!t, my bad. Middle click on LINKS..... sorry, I'm in a bad mood right now. Ordered a pizza an hour and a half ago and it never arrived. Tried calling the pizza place (Papa John's) but was placed on hold UNTIL THE PLACE CLOSED AND PHONE SERVICE STOPPED.

wow... i knew about tabs before as that's one of the main reasons i use Firefox as my main browser (multi-homepage startup the other), but i only even knew the CTRL-LEFT CLICK method, not the MIDDLE-CLINK method. one less button. cool.

And if you want the tabs on all the time:

Tools>Options>Advanced> then declick Hide the tab bar when only one website is open

EDIT: Plus, like you said, Avant is still MS, so it's still subject to all those MS security holes...

You can make it completely tabbed in TBE options. I have pretty much all tabbed instead of windows. All in One is sweet too! I use a ton of them now that I have memorized more of them.

firefox beats every other browser through its extensions IMO. all the things you complained about can be fixed.
