It seems as if everyone is so concerned with the "next big thing." Crappy indie bands are paid undue attention because some journalist, desperate to discover and expose new bands, says they're the best thing since the last best thing that lasted two months last year. Then everyone jumps on the bandwagon and soon we've got rubbish crammed down our throats for a few weeks before they're shite when the next big thing comes around.
Even more annoying are the die-hard music geeks that dismiss everything with the slightest commercial tint. Nothing is any good unless the band is unheard of, only if they've never made a video, or been featured in a magazine. Song in a commercial? They're crap.
Why are people so goddamned protective of music? It's farking entertainment, people. Lighten up.
