What the hell do Canadians and Mexicans contribute to North America (or the World, for that matter) anyhow? Both Nations sit on our borders secure in their knowledge that we will never be a threat to them and also knowing that we would never tolerate anyone else posing a threat to them. They steal our jobs and criticize everthing we do. I still cannot get over the "Canadian town meeting" which was broadcast after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. One Canadian after another marched up to a microphone and told us we are war mongers and we brought this on ourselves, then many proceeded to to claim that this did not involve Canada and asked their Govt. to keep them out of it. Hell, half the terrorists that are in the U.S. come across the Canadian border!!!!! USA is a great nation, but not even close to being the "greatest nation" in the history of the world.

The US is younger than most Empires of the past, and we probably don?t have as much landmass as the others did. But we most likely project more power and influence than any Empire of the past. It?s just that we would rather let or money do the talking most of the time instead of our military. I wonder what the military budgets of past empires were compared to ours. We have the most technically advanced military in the world and it barely puts a dent in our budget. We don?t want to take over the world, we want a free world to trade with and make more money. It?s a lot easier to buy something than it is to take by military action. The American way is freedom and money not subjugation and terror like empires of the past. 🙂

Now as to this whole issue, of course it could be a rumour, or course it could be the Canadian's fault that this is even an issue, but it could also be true. Now, the fact that it could be true is the one that leads me to say that it is things like this which give Americans bad reputations.

Cute. Since there is no proof either way, you cannot say certainly that it didn't happen and that it is rumour. What I was saying in my last post was not that Americans are to blame if this is a rumour, but that this is an example of something which might give Americans a bad name. It is believable that the actions have transpired, and on that fact alone, one can give merit to other things along the same lines which are also disrespectful, and thus give Americans a bad name. Obviously if it is a rumour, than Americans are not to blame, but the 'see, I told you so! We have bigger balls than you' attitude isn't one that can be looked upon from outside as a respectful one.

Thank you, that is what I was trying to say. Obviously I came in here with the belief that the actions must have transpired, and obviously that was a bad position to take, and I apologise.
