1$ for one can is pretty much standard, though I've seen $1.25 in some places, think that's actually the new standard.

Meanwhile you can buy a case of 24 for like 5 bucks. I want to start a vending machine company.

It's not pop. It's soda ;)

Video games. It costs $.50-$1 to print and package a CD, then maybe another $2 to ship the game to the store. I know that development/marketing costs are high, but if developers would just use decent anti-piracy measures (think Stardock's approach), then it wouldn't really be a problem. Or put some advertising/product placement in games to reduce the price - I don't mind paying $20 instead of $50 if I have to see a few billboards/an ad during loading.

You do know that a pirated copy != a potential sale?

And that stardock might as well have shot itself?

I agree on ads though.

I know not every pirated copy is a potential lost sale, but some certainly are. Lots of people figure, "Hey, I can get this for free, so why pay for it?"

Ripe tomatoes (not the kind that are picked way too young and forced to "ripen"). It can cost upwards of $10 just to put together a decent marinara for a few people.
