I like fast food.

Me too. I've eaten at a lot of fine places but fastfood is perfect for when I need something quick and cheap to eat. People that make it out to be gross or claim that they end up on the toilet must have severe intestinal issues. I've yet to eat at these magical 5 guys or other pricier comfort food places where it blows regular fast food out the water.

The best beer I ever had was Old Rasputin. It tasted (to me) like every other beer, but the aftertaste was more pleasant.

I think almost any cold beverage would be fantastic on a hot day :p

Spelling and grammar. I'm somewhat of a language snob and it irks me to no end that most people (especially the younger generations) have completely abandoned proper spelling and grammar and replaced it with txt spk. I've received text messages where someone will misspell a common word like "tomorrow" multiple times in a single message... without even using a consistent misspelling. Seriously, how does that happen? Did you think, "Gosh, I'm pretty sure the spelling of this word has changed since I last used it nearly 27 seconds ago." And it's not even a new phenomenon; I remember my peers constantly bitching about how much they hated grammar or how crappy they were at spelling throughout my schooling. It just irritates me that basic communication is now seen as a frivolous novelty for college professors or lawyers to worry about.

Durian, A-1 steak sauce, ketchup, BK hamburgers, Popeye fried chicken, sushi (just a plate full of sliced salmon, no rice), big ass Ford F-150 trucks, Budweiser/Corona, Star Wars 1-3 (but not more than 4-6) and I will go see the 3-D release

I stopped after this.

1. I don't get the all Nicholas Cage hate. Yes, he sucks with money and made some real shitty movies recently. But he'll always have a soft spot for me because of his classics in the 90's: The Rock, Face Off, Con Air, Family Man, Leaving Las Vegas, etc. He can certainly act.

Those are the movies that proved he couldn't act, and then he got worse from there. The last decent movie I seen him in was Raising Arizona (1987). All through the 90's I called him out for horrible acting (in each of those movies you listed) and it wasn't until more recently people have seen the light.

Quit being such a pre-Madonna about it. Bad spellers these days are a diamond dozen. It's a doggy dog world out there, people could care less about spelling.

Most people who claim to suffer from lactose intolerance are just hypochondriacs who find food allergies to be stylish. It's like the whole gluten-free craze going on now; some people actually are gluten-intolerant but most are just going along with the latest dieting fads.

I am not the biggest fan of milk but only because I don't like the taste that much. I'll put it on cereal but I can't drink it on its own.

Oh and I am totally fine with cheap American beer. It's not the same as the good stuff but that's why it's cheap.

I highly doubt they are many people claiming they have Lactose Intolerance just to be hip.
There are certain populations/ethnic backgrounds that are quite likely to develop lactose intolerance as they age. For the most part, being able to drink milk into elderly years is pretty much a White European (or those who descended from such), as there is an adaptation with the genetics responsible for lactase (the enzyme that breaks down lactose).

It's actually highly unnatural for humans to consume lactose well into adulthood. That said, I will drink the pasteurized juice of cow for as long as my gut agrees with such. It is indeed quite a tasty beverage, and goes well (perfectly) with so many things.

Now, there are recent developments in the nutrition world that actually would be best to consider. Sugars are not something we really should be consuming in excess, it doesn't match up with our average activity level... I use sugar-free almond milk for protein shakes, but too much of the awesomeness of milk is missing to drink that straight up (the sugar version I can, but might as well stick to milk if I'm getting sugar one way or the other).

As for gluten-free, well... not really sure. I have a feeling if anyone is actually focusing on that when they have no issues with gluten, then it could very well be hipsters (likely with a complete misunderstanding of nutritional science or biochemistry and, hell, probably don't even know what gluten actually is).

Gluten insensitivity and Celiac disease (gluten allergy) is a true food allergy, and not one that is likely to develop simply because of overexposure or anything.
And I also imagine some are simply hypochondriacs, since you can have celiac disease and really have no idea; you would get at least some moments of feeling unwell, possibly an upset stomach or even the runs if you consumed a lot. Without there being terribly nasty symptoms, a lot of those basic ones are easily misinterpreted as, well, basically bad luck (I ate earlier. Now I have an upset stomach. Dammit!). It takes a little hypochondria to even get the idea to try and connect any dots: "I seem to feel bad after eating certain types of food. Hmm, is there anything that is in each type of food that might be connected to my stomach aches?"

It's obvious for some cases, others don't get diagnosed into quite late into life... and it's unlikely they avoided gluten their whole life, so either a) they did avoid gluten, b) they simply never consumed gluten for some odd reason, or c) they've been consuming gluten regularly, but never got much more than a stomach ache, and not all the time.

After reading that once, I was already formulating a fairly attention-grabbing post, in which I had planned to point a few things out.

Then I read it again.

Cousin of mine has been diagnosed with Celiac's. She was always skinny and a picky eater from what I understand.

Oh, I'm perfectly aware that lactose intolerance and celiac disease are very real things. But avoiding gluten is the hip new thing these days, and avoiding lactose is another popular trend among hypochondriacs.

But yes, I know that lactose and gluten CAN cause problems for many people, and they affect different ethnic groups at different rates.

Being gluten free is a new hip thing, IMO. I have a friend who cannot eat gluten, but there are a lot of people I meet now who are like, "oh yeah, I don't eat gluten." They don't have celiac disease or anything, but just do it because of whatever misc health benefits.

I hate all those new wave hip health stuff that's not based on anything. Being vegetarian is one thing (both my parents are), but people are taking these trends to crazy levels. Oh I don't eat anything born on the 12th of the lunar calendar, blah blah blah blah...

2. Why do adults dislike milk? I love that shit. It's great with chocolate, cookies, PBJ sandwich, & cereal. Actually nothing ever comes close to what milk can do for companioning those. Beer? Coffee? Soda? Fail.

3. I like Budweiser. Yes we're all beer snobs, but there's something about the crisp taste of Bud that goes well with rare Prime rib (Drool). Other thicker/darker brews tend to mask the flavor of steak too much.

I can't stand all light beer though.

I agree with all three of your points.

The last 2 Matrix movies.

Ok, so they weren't perfect and a bit silly in places. But I never expected them to change my life or answer the unanswerable.

I don't get the rabid hate they inspire.
They inspire hate because half of it is filler and they seem to contradict each other.

Matrix, first movie:
Very good movie. Most of the things that happen in this movie happen for a reason. No filler.
-establish that Neo isn't too happy about his life; he is receptive to something new
-weird people offer a change
-he goes with them and finds all this weird shit
-we get the impression that the machines are a "hive mind"
-there's a problem
-he triumph over the problem

Matrix Reloaded (I like this movie)
The problem with Matrix Reloaded is that the plot is overly confusing or vague and it has a lot of random problems introduced and it screws up the idea of machines being a hive mind.
-the machines are drilling to zion, so that's the problem
-Neo needs to stay in touch with the matrix; maybe he can virus it like Independence Day or something (we don't know yet)
-Agent Smith somehow escapes the matrix?? (explained below)
-The oracle says he needs to get the key maker or something? That's ok I guess. He must be held in some kind of hive mind stronghold similar to how morpheus was held in the first movie.
-No, he's held by some programs that are not part of the hive mind, but are inside the hive mind? That's..... stupid. Whatever. Just roll with it.
-They get the key maker and find out Neo needs to get to the source or architect or something. I can't even remember why. Let's just assume it's like Independence Day where Will Smith needs to get to the mother ship so he can upload a virus. That still seems reasonable.
-Agent Smith outside of the matrix messes shit up (explained below)
-Even when outside the matrix, Neo can stop machines with his magic powers (explained below)

What really made Reloaded a good movie is that it implies Zion is still inside the matrix. The machine guy said the matrix is much older than anyone realizes. They've destroyed it many times before and rebuilt it many times before. It was never outside of the machines control. It's more like a fenced off area for humans to go if they don't want to live in the regular matrix with all the regular people (~dress like a goth because you're different from all the conformists). This plot twist explains a lot of stupid shit, so it's suddenly not stupid. How did Agent Smith get out of the matrix? He didn't. He's still in the matrix, but he's in a different level of the matrix (like Inception). Agents can normally take control of a persons's body in the matrix, and that's exactly what Smith did, but he jumped from one matrix layer to another. How did neo stop machines when he's out of the matrix? He can stop them because he's still in the matrix. Now what? Watch the next movie to find out!

Matrix Revolutions (fucking worst movie ever)
This movie basically says that everything in the above paragraph is wrong OR that it doesn't matter. Yes Agent Smith escaped the Matrix, which is stupid. Neo just has magic powers for no reason, which is stupid. Now their solution is declare peace with the machines, and that by itself is stupid because in the first movie they said humans need conflict at all times (ie matrix outside the matrix is at constant war). Why is Agent Smith the main bad guy? That's retarded. So like he's a designed part of the matrix and he just starts ruining it? What like how I install Windows 7 and it expands to 25gb so my 30gb SSD no longer has space and I need to format the fucker again? Actually that doesn't sound so stupid when I phrase it like that since that actually is happening to my current computer....
