Ok i have my new system. spec in sig.

and my idle temp is 59C my full load is 67C. System temp is 40+C

I have not used an XP 1700+ chip before so i'm not sure how hot they run. i assume this is to hot.

I am planning to install a 120mm fan to suck cool air in, and a 80mm to blow hot air out. to lower my system temp.

My questions are:

1. are my current temps to high?
2. will these new fans help the cpu temp as well?
3. How much difference could i see in temp. i.e max average and min?

Thanks

Very hot. Is the temperature accurate? I think the case is suffocating; case temp is also too high for winter unless you're in the southern hemisphere.

no im an in england.

i hope to bring down the system temp by instaling a 120mm fan and a 80mm exhaust.

does any one know , what effect the system temp has on the cpu.

will my cpu temp drop a certain amount for every degree that comes of my system temp?

Yeah, this is way, way too hot! You better get that temp dow or it could affect the lifespan and stability of your cpu.

You can start with your case temp, it's high, too high. A rule of thumb is that you should try to get it around 30C. 30-35 is the norm, 40C is too high. The case temp directly influences the cpu temp, for every 1C the case temp drops expect the cpu temp to drop at least 1C too. Get those fans you mentioned, they'll help a lot.

I'm not familiar with the hsf you have, but as it's a CoolerMaster it's not one of the best. Still, if ti was certified for the 1700+ there should be no problem, if it isn't then the reason for your high temps is probably that your hsf is too inefficient, replace it then. If the hsf is doing bad that would cause the cpu and thus case temp to rise (it's the same as mentioned above).

Get those fans for the case, and if those doesn't help get a new hsf. Those temps need to get down, that is, unless Asus finally has made the A7V266 read from the ondie-temp probe instead of the socket thermistor (the first revisions of the board was supposed to be able to do this but couldn't).

temp is to high.........are you useing a thermal pad on the heatsink or grease? to much grease will cause a problem............thermal pads are a problem as far as i am concerned
