Best quote I've seen on this: "Worrying that Disney will ruin Star Wars is like worrying that a second iceberg will dive down to hit the Titanic." 😀

We need more prequels, and especially one that shows Jar-Jar at the same annoying age as Anakin in Episode I. That's when we'll also learn about how he had a stroke, which severely impacted his speech and intelligence, and also of the effect this had on his parents. Deysa bein' sooooo devastated.

And be sure to shoehorn Chewie and Yoda in there too, and maybe show an engineer's conceptual drawing of a design for R2-D2.

My new hope is that this creative team will strike back against the empire of weak Star Wars EU and herald the return of the Jedi...

\yet the menace of age old phantoms remain...

Trick question. I won't see anything they do to Star Wars, George Lucas can't be trusted. Why would I give him another chance to show me another shitty movie? Fool me once shame on you, fool me four times shame on me.

Mr. Lucas has put himself out of the loop - it's Disney's bane to bare.....

oh, he's still there.

limited capacity, but his treatment is what will be filmed.

If they are sticking to the current 2015 time frame, it is Lucas's concept that is being produced.

....not a bad thing, of course. Just need some people with talent to bring the good out of his ideas.

Stephen king is this way: shitty writer, shitty everything--besides his ideas. Put someone competent in charge of his ideas, good stuff happens.

I always got the impression Jar Jar and the Gungans were supposed to be Jamaican?

Also, I see Disney has wasted no time combing Wikipedia and adding themselves as "owners" of Star Wars.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jar_Jar_Binks

Jar Jar Binks is a fictional character from Disney's Star Wars Saga (appears in: Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith), and the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.[1] His primary role was to provide comic relief, but many reacted negatively to his character upon his debut. Jar Jar was voiced by Ahmed Best, and was almost completely computer generated.

i think they have a chance at doing it justice. i don't think they're interested in screwing the pooch with this franchise and, i think, they want to restore the storyline's integrity and take the credit for doing so.

the ONLY thing that gives me hope when it comes to star wars in disney's hands is "tron: legacy". "tron: legacy" was so good, it was easily rewatchable, which is quite an accomplishment for me. there's a short list of movies that i'll actually WANT watch more than once.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0401729/

It's a Disney sci-fi movie that came out near the beginning of 2012. Generally considered to be a huge flop.

... was it a sequel to something? honestly, it doesn't matter to me if disney made a flop sci-fi flick. what matters to me is how good prequels and sequels are in comparison to the original.

tron's sequel was awesome. i'm hoping 'the trilogy's' sequel will be awesome, too.
