If you ever wanted to slightly tweak the flow/direction of a fan here's an idea. Plenum? Thought it was a neat idea ...if you happend to need something like it.
 
So, your device alters the fan angle slightly? Nice. I bet it changed pitch since the motor is at an angle now...
 
That it did! Slightly deeper,quieter whine now😉
Unfortunatly I set it up on the blow side but after reading your reply I am now thinking of using it as a spacer. I think from playing around today the whine is caused at the intake. If I install it as a "duct-in" way,instead of bending plenum. I think it might become quieter and deeper. Hmmmmmmm?
