ThinCRT technology, as thin as LCDs, but yet its a CRT.

That definitely looks like a promising technology. If it delivers it should kill off LCD's as we know them. I heard at current prices many LCD's are losing money. I like those little hand held TV screens in the article. How cool would it be to save shows on your Tivo and wirelessly upload them to a handheld TV "tablet" to watch on the train or on your lunch hour?
 
Disadvantages
Power consumption make these displays less attractive for portable applications. They have also proven to be more difficult to manufacture than was initially thought. And they are limited in size; the largest demonstration unit shown so far is 15-inches diagonal.

Personally, I'm waiting for OLEDs. CRTs are 50 year old technology, time to move on.
