dell, they have a laptop in every price range with every option. personally I would check ebay, many times you can find new ones, still in the box for much cheaper than buying direct from dell. If you have the money get a Inspiron 8100, they have the options of having a built in dvd/cdrom and a modular cdrw, plus their huge clear display (15.1 super xga+) and they are about 1.25" thin.

Ah crud....

Do they make an ultraportable with the geforce vid card? I thought that was only usually found in the beefier desk top replacements?

the dell inspiron 8100 is no where close to 1.25 " thin. its more like 1.8 inches. the toshiba satelite 3000 is a better notebook, with gf2go.

If your looking for small this is the one. If your looking for a GeForce2go, this is not the one.

All I have to say is good luck!

Thin laptop = Thin wallet

Allow a few more inches and you can get a FASTER, BETTER EQUIPPED IBM ThinkPad or Dell Inspiron laptop for A LOT LESS money.

For $1499 you can get this LOADED IBM ThinkPad T series for $1499.

A kick ass bargain.

Here are some slim notebooks.

You want a notebook less than 1.5" and be able to play games and be affordable? Ain't gonna happen man.

I purchased an IBM T23 1.13GHZ; 128MB; 48GB 5400RPM HD; 802.11b wireless; 14.1"TFT screen with 16MB S3 IX graphics chip; 1.3" thin. 5 pounds. MSRP $3,799. I got mine for $2326 via ebay. I don't recommend this because it takes too long.

Have you ever considered a Twinhead

They're ultraportable and I believe (i may be mistaken but I heard something about this years ago) that Sony asked Twinhead to help with the slim Vaio notebooks. Twinhead had the slim notebooks before Sony came out with their line. So in that sense I believe it may be true. Univ of California Irvine used to sell the Twinheads in their computer store. I'm not sure if they do anymore.

They're cheaper than a Vaio. They're of the same build or better build quality as the Vaios. Check em out, you may like em. I had a couple Twinheads and never really had a problem with them. :)

Vaio's rock BTW...simply for style points. I have one of the older ones...400 PII. I'll pick up a new one from the SR series when I go to HK. Nice and thin. Perfect for me to lug around campus.

They have really improved on the design of these. I had one of the first ones that were out. It was a really slow POS machine. That was when they had that stupid little door for the modem connection. That damn door broke off and they couldn't/didn't want to fix it. Also the latch on the thing broke. We didnt abuse this machine at all. It was a nice size but was lacking on quality. I do agree that the newer ones are alot better but I would like to go with a tablet PC now. It's just kinda cool to use that way.

If I really had the cash for it...I'd go for the Mebius. No question.

0.77 inches thick or less...
