Its not uncommon for thieves to steal AC units in Phoenix, for copper, parts, etc. I'm not a very religious person, but I wouldn't be sitting through services that day. And if I was the preacher, I'd make my sermon as short as possible, and cut out all the BS hymns.

The AUTHORITAH is wrong.

I am pretty sure that when they said that the units were 5 tons each. One ton = 12,000 BTU.

They lost 120,000 BTU of cooling capacity, not 10,000 lbs of air conditioner.

Yeah, probably 5 ton AC capacity units...not 5 tons of weight each.

Hell, it's a church...they can just pray for cool.

Jesus fed 5000 people with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, he can certainly cool a church with only one air conditioner.

Not just churches but businesses too. I was hit this winter/spring. Did over 100k of damage for about 500 dollars of copper. Worthless thieves.

Try to absorb a 25k deductible on that.

In NY, scrapyards are required to make a photocopy of the driver's license of the person bringing in scrap metal. Funny... I don't hear about problems with scrap metal being stolen in NY as often as I hear about it in other states. Stupid gubment regulations. 😛
