Thieves rifled through my car - question about video surveillance

I put the CLUB on it (on top of a sensitive audible alarm) even in my driveway to deter thieves since it's an older Accord that they'd love to grab for spare parts (#1 or #2 on the most stolen list). My truck sits in the garage whenever possible.

My HS buddy had his Grand Cherokee taken right out of the driveway and that was supposed to be a safe/upscale neighborhood. Just last year, some bold thief broke in thru the backyard sliding door in broad daylight with my little dog barking loudly... even took his time going through all 3 bedrooms/drawers. They weren't after electronics, but cash/change. Damn the drugs.

Moron.

You see, that's just my point. You hotheaded civilians would never catch me without having respect for burglary. You simply couldn't comprehend the intricacies of the profession. So throw away your ego and all of your goods, as you are clearly unprepared.

Hey Scumbag, how would you react if someone would steal your sh!t? lovely human.

I may not catch you, but my Mossberg 590 will.

Lol, guys leave him alone. He probably just watched the Thomas Crowne Affair from the back seat of his mommy's minivan and is trying to pose as a l33t thief.

You don't have to kill them, but you can seriously maim them. Shoot them in the nuts or legs. Actually the best thing to do is video tape them and take the the tape to the cops.

I have that little X10 camera you see advertised everywhere - don't knock it, it actually works pretty good. If you have a VCR that can record on a loop you can use that. ALso you can hook it up to a TV tuner card and let run continuously. Use a setting that will only take like 1 frame a second or something like that so you don't fill up your HDD overnight...

flood lights on a motion sensor focused on your driveway, that should eliminate the low light problem, maybe help the camera, or scare them off. happened to use before, same deal, went down the street, looking for cell phones etc.

Dude. the club is worthless. Any good car theif can break it in less than 20 seconds.

Yeah, I realize I can install some motion-activated security lamps. We did that on my sister's house a few months ago. The point is not to scare them off so they can just break into someone else's shet. Nor is the point to keep them away with flood lamps and stuff so they can just steal someone else's stuff. My sense of community isn't limited to "I hope they pick the neighbor's house, not mine!"

I want to catch the little bastards on video. I'm sure they're from this neighborhood, within five or six streets. Probably kids whose parents won't believe they have been stealing until they see a video tape, and even then they will say "well its your fault for leaving your door unlocked."
