<< THG's opinion? I thought this is a Readers' Choice Award >>

Fine, people who read that site.. their opinion matters not.. 🙂 I just think THG is a load of crap...

i think that if anand were to do something similar here the results would pretty much be the same...

i dont see anything too bad with the choices they made...all pretty much the same user opinions here...

Didn't say they were bad, I don't take the time to read THG though just cause I don't like Tom usually... but thats just me....

I'd honour AT's votes more so than THG's..

I'm glad to see the Athlon XP win. Afterall AMD's Performance Rating seems to be successful.

Hey, anybody knows the guy who won the THG Box?

<< THG's opinion means nothing to anyone, anymore... >>

Some of us think extremely highly of Tom... at least when he puts forth an effort which unfortunately isnt always a guarantee.
Take it from someone who has met the good Doctor in person, he is extremely intelligent indeed. There are few more intelligent people out there that arent directly associated or employed by one of the major manufacturers.

I'm surprised they received recognition from the winnners; and not some chump in the PR department either.

Seems like pretty reasonable choices to me, but then again, I don't know much of anything.

I feel the same way, but the jabrones he has working for him and I assume Tom has confidence in are making his site unbearable. Constant inconsistencies, horrid semantics, and botched reviews with misleading and erroneous conclusions have made THG a joke in my opinion.

You gotta be kidding. There isn't a more biased website on the web doing major reviews Tom's Hardware and they let it seep into most if not all of their reviews.

Not counting their Crusade against Intel they blatently backed an inferior cooling product simply because the manufacturer was German.

Tom's hardware is pathetic when it comes to unbiased reviews.

it's just TH has such an obvious bias towards certain brands and loyalties that he almost never does a fair comparison, like how he intentionally used DDR as opposed to RDram for the p4 vs Athlon to bring up AMD, and notice how he keeps putting down ATI and upping Nvidia despite ATI winnin the reader's choice. But despite this, he still gives out a good amount of detail on the stuff he writes about.

<< Nothing surprising in the results. Overall, as I suspected.... >>

Hey AGodSpeed, did you notice something? The THG poll results are similar to your poll of "Vote your best hardware of 2001". The ratio between people choosing the P4 and the Athlon (XP) is strikingly similar! AXP in both cases wins by a huge lead and is proportionate, give and take.....

Lol, you're right. That tells you something, doesn't it....

ATI "won" reader's choice only if you judge the winner by the size of the graph.

Look at the whole picture 🙂

In 2001, it was the AthlonXP
In 2002, IMHO, it'll be the Clawhammer 😀

ClawHammer would have to come out around the October/November timeframe for it to be the CPU of 2002. I don't think that's likely, but who knows.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed 😀. They have to release it by then if they are already in sampling... IMO, AMD's roadmaps are a little more predictable than intel's because they have to work with chipset makers, mobo makers, etc... We just have to wait.... If not, I feel Athlon XP may take it for a second time in 2002 with it's .13micron core (T-bred)...who knows what the future holds?

Minor edit to clear things
