Nah. A lot of babies are quite fat, and grow up to a "normal" size for their height, body type, etc. It's CRITICALLY important that very small children get enough nutrients, and are introduced to a balanced range of good foods. Now, of course, there could always be some kind of metabolic disorder, etc. Good pediatricians watch that stuff very carefully, and can tell when something else may be going on.
Looks like this one has just learned to sit up on his/her (I'm thinkin her) own. Once a child progresses to "toddler" and starts walking, you wouldn't BELIEVE how quickly they shed weight, eat more, and better (sometimes).
Food issues can be a big deal when raising kids, and there's no perfect way to approach it. Like everything else, all kids are different.
BUT: Parents who starve their infants (and young kids) worrying that they'll be fat are complete and absolute morons...:|
