ive worked for my father for years now, and this particular employee has been working here for, maybe 5 years.

shes got 3 kids, has never married any of the fathers. she got married last year, the guy got sent to prison and got out a couple of weeks ago. she makes about 8 bucks an hour, and works 25 hours a week.

he didnt work before he got sent to prison, and im pretty certain he doesnt now. they want another kid.

why?

welfare! food stamps, medical, whatever they can get. instead of her working more and him getting a job, they want a kid so they can collect on the benefits of being really poor.

i dont even know where to start...

Stupid people do stupid things.

I think we (society) are the stupid ones for voting in politicians who implement legislature that rewards to these type of people.

I would fire her if I could. that way they really would enjoy the benefits of being poor.

people abusing the system are as sickening as those who use use the abuse of the system as a reason to get rid of it.

Like father like son. They're making 3 (potentially 4) kids who will probably grow up thinking that doing things like this is ok. I'm sure their parents were the same way.

We need population control, not allowing these types of people to continue taking advantage of the state.

she'd get unemployment if he just randomly fired her, then find someone to fill the position.

in fact

shes been fired 3 times, and he keeps re-hiring her because we cant find anyone who can do the work as well as she does. there are 3 people in-plant who are trained at the job, one of them comes close, but *shes* the best at what she does, as well.

i would imagine there are a number of people who think its a good idea around here, this is just the only one ive met that has said as much. its one thing to get pregnant without planning it....its another thing to get pregnant without planning it and be unable to afford the child, its another thing to get pregnant while being unable to afford it for the *sole purpose* of getting money and benefits from the government.

If she's so good then she should be earning a better salary and not be living so poor. Is the company just cheap?

and EDIT: I'm not meaning to bash the company, as in your original post, it definatly sounds like she's a system abuser .. I just want to point out the other possible point of view.

Well what else are we supposed to do? Let the kids starve? I mean, it sucks that the parents get a free ride with the kids, but I wouldn't consider the opposite of the situation much better.

The problem is that the other option is politicians who'll legislate christianity. Unfortunately it's human nature to polarize everything into two camps, and most people are unable to fight this instinct.
