The idea is that while you may rack up fantastic records in the books of whatever sport you compete in, the knowledge that you used steroids to accomplish them places an imaginary asterisk next to each one with a corresponding note at the bottom of the page reading "record set while using steroids". Those accomplishment do not belong to you, they belong to the 'roids.

the reason why it sometimes causes smaller nuts if you take it during adolescence is because the body will sense the synthetic steroid and thus not produce any of it's own (negative feedback cycle), and thus some adolescence who take steroids will have stunted growth of secondary sexual characteristics because thesynthetic steroids is not a perfect replacement for the natural testosterone in the body and the cascading of other chemicals that your body produces in response to it.

Improper use can cause all the things the DEA likes to harp about since they're part of a billion dollar antidrug industry. You are correct that the smaller nuts occur as a result of the body shutting down its own testosterone production when an external hormone is introduced (i.e. the steroids). However, this effect occurs in guys of any age who take steroids, not just adolescents.

Unless you run an extremely suppressive cycle, your nuts eventually return to normal after you quit taking the steroids. This means your body is once again producing its own testosterone.
