They Live (1988)

John Carpenter FTW!

They Live, The Thing, Prince of Darkness, In the Mouth of Madness

These are a bunch of my favorites.

that fight scene was long, like 10 minutes of the movie is those two guys fighting

AWESOME! :awe:

that movie rocked...i never understood why he would not put the glasses on.

Because Roddy Piper's character just shot up a store full of people... his info was probably plastered all over the news...

He probably thought Piper was some drugged out crackhead, and didn't want to do anything he asked. THAT.. and he was a wanted man.. i wouldn't want anything to do with a mass murderer either.

Good movie, I love how the guy just started shooting once he saw that they were aliens with the glasses.

The extended brawl was a bit boring, IMO.

That might be my all-time favorite movie fistfight. Like so many John Carpenter movies, They Live is highly underrated. I thought it was funny how Roddy Piper was more or less the same character as Kurt Russell played in so many other JC movies (Escape from NY, Escape from LA, Big Trouble in Little China, and even The Thing, more or less).

great movie, the birth of a bunch of good one-liners and very underrated. finally got my kids to watch it, they thought it was good too.

I don't wear the glasses and you look normal, but then I put them on and you look like a cheesehead.

(disclaimer: I only ever saw part of the movie on TV about 15 years ago)

Best part of that movie is when the alien is banging the hooker at the end. And she looks at him like wtf? And he said something like "What is wrong baby"? And you see his face lol

It's not manly, macho or alpha to do what someone else tells you to do without a good reason. Keith David's character wasn't about to be told what to do by some psycho.

Funny movie, but not a favorite.
