Which is it, are we talking about a world wide scale or just this country? If you want to talk on a worldwide scale then this whole country is conservative, even the liberals....
Even if you want to compare conservatives in this country to the rest of the world, we are hardly "off the deep end". Of course there is a small minority of conservatives that are extreme, just like the left has a small minority of extremists.
