They just broke into my house

likely someone you knew. Someone that pehaps just wanted the watch, maybe had an idea of where it was at?
Cause i wouldnt think most typical thieves would know much about watches, maybe i'm wrong but my tard ass would've grabbed the obvious goodies and overlooked any watch

but definitly someone broke in knowing exactly what they wanted to grab. otherwise why not grab a few other goodies on the way out?

This. Have you been flashing your watch around at all? Those thieves sound a little too specific and choosy to me. Otherwise why not take the computers too, you're a thief it's free right?

I'm not blaming you OP, just wondering if maybe you somehow inadvertently caused someone to target you for the watch.

When my parents house got robbed, they took only smaller things (cash, jewelry, pistol, cameras, etc), but plainly left laptops, xbox, tvs, etc.

yeah; sounds strange that they would just target your watch and not your other hardware.

and a damn nice watch too 🙁 the carrera and the the omega speedmaster are the only 2 watches that I'm ok with spending 2k+ on.

xbox, tv and PC based laptops I can understand. Apple stuff though is the tech equivalent of jewellery, highly sought after and I would think much easier to pawn.

mexican stole my neighbor chrismas decoration deer lights and stuff that cost 100.00 and up. not racist. many mexican live by him. sometimes my neighbor see women daipers thrown in his front yard. they probly change in car and go pass and jus throw out of the car and hit the neighbor yard.

last week mexican driver rush in front of me.. like i was in the other direction making my turn... and he jus rush through form the other direction and cut to the exit. i supose to exit first. no manner. i didnt honk or anything. other time i saw mexican driver almost hit an old man crossing the street. he brake real hard everybody was looking. the old man got very shocked and talk his own language some kind of asian.... sound like vietnam and just continue to cross the street. mexican driver seems like they rush too much.

normally I always wear it, don't flash it, just wear it like any other watch. Didn't wear it because it needed some maintenance.

cops told me that thieves started to avoid ipads and iphones because of the tracking ability

they even went through my bathroom cabinets. According to the police the search pattern is typical of Eastern European gangs, they really just interested in cash, jewelry, ...

Googled: Yup, looks like a watch. Looks like many other watches. Many other much cheaper watches.

it's a Tag Heuer Carrera Fangio Limited edition. I bought it because I wanted something nice and timeless that I wanted to pass on to my children. It holds great sentimental value to me. I don't expect you to understand this but this was not just an expensive watch to me

Ahh k.

Hmm sorry to hear it. Did they take ANYTHING else at all? Where was the watch in your place at that time?

Nothing else at all. There was a Macbook Pro, Mac Mini, Ipod and Ipad in plain sight in my living room. They stole the watch from my master bedroom

That sucks. Sounds like they weren't noobs 🙁

I imagine there is a serial number on the watch? Did you ever write this down somewhere, do you have documents of the number? If so a REALLY long shot would be to check out local pawn shops to see if it turns up somewhere then check it against said #. But it's not likely.

I was gonna post this, SOOO many of my neighboors have had eastern europeans break into their houses, they've always avoided my house because of my german shepherd.

yes, serial number of the watch is now in the national stolen stuff database of the federal police. Cop told not to expect anything but sometimes they catch one of these gangs and if you are lucky you get your stuff back

not expecting anything though...

mainly Bulgarians and Romanians here according to police, it's a real pest. I live in a city of 350k people and the cop told me that they can barely keep up.

The locksmith that came to fix my door said just the same, he has a lot of work...

But be good times for him though 😉

yeah, he also told me you need to invest in an expensive safety door if you want to be really safe from this sort of crime. If they can not brake the door in 1-2 minutes, they will leave and look for an easier prey.
