We know, and we knew 2 weeks ago.

EDIT: OH, they found out who it belonged to :p. I thought this was just saying that the finger wasn't from Wendy's and that the woman was just an idiot.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The finger that a woman said she found in a bowl of Wendy?s chili came from an associate of her husband who lost the digit in an industrial accident, police said Friday.

?The jig is up. The puzzle pieces are beginning to fall into place,? Police Chief Rob Davis said.

He said authorities ?positively confirmed that this subject was in fact the source of the fingertip.?

Anna Ayala, the woman who said she found the finger, was arrested last month at her suburban Las Vegas home.

Police say the finger that a woman found in a bowl of chili came from an associate of her husband?s who lost the digit in an industrial accident.

Wendy's should sue her for damages, plus extortion.

house, gone! car, gone! bank-account, gone! ...and all future paychecks of her, and her husband.

I imagine they will. Not only did they directly lose millions in business, they had to lay off a lot of entry-level employees because of business lost by the individual franchises.

IMO the corporation owes the franchisees a scorched-earth, ruin-her-life, Kaiser Sose-style campaign against this woman as a show of loyalty. This would send a clear message about the way these kinds of cons will be handled, and deter them in the future. I know if I were the Wendy's CEO, I'd find the baddest team of litigators I could, and send them forth with orders to leave no stone unturned in destroying this woman. It would likely cost more than they'd stand to recover, but ultimately it would be money well spent IMO.
