Photography is one of my newest hobbies and I was able to pick up a D3300, 18-55mm kit lens, and a camera bag for $275. Bought a Yonguo 50mm (cheap, easy way to expand and explore) for $80. Been using that for about 6 months, so to spice things up (and the fact that the crop sensor made things hard to get reasonable positioning.

I picked up a 35mm f/3.5 Super Takumar (M42 mount) for around $55 (I had an Amazon giftcard so I had to find it there instead of eBay, which would have been much better).

- I just took these and didn't edit them at all.

- The case, which I wasn't expecting on getting. It was in surprisingly good condition. "Takumar 35/35" is imprinted on the top

- From what I've researched (and which can be wrong, so if I am, let me know), this is the third version of the Super Takumar since it's minimum aperture is f/16 and features the distance scale window.

It smells... old. Like my grandparent's basement. It's heavy, solid, and could knock someone out. Can't wait for the adapter to come in so I can take this thing for a spin.

One of my friends actually gave me a glasses case with my name on it (Takumi Eyewear). who doesn't want to own stuff with their name on it, I never find my name on keychains and what not here in the US (for obv reasons).
 
My dad had gloves with our last name on it, was the company that made them, everyone asked if they were custom made lol.

Indeed!

That's why, despite the minor weight penalty, I installed this on my bicycle:

Such fidelity to an ideal has made pedaling to breakfast, lunch and dinner significantly harder, but otoh, when I do get there, BOY, am I hungry!
