I prefer Southwest 737NG's over any AmericaWest/USAir A320's for the routes I frequent.

I fly short and long haul regularly. I just don't see a major difference between the types. Except that the MD-80 types are a bit small and noisey at the back.

I see.

Personally, I don't care what plane it is. Airlines are the biggest difference, not the planes.

Would you like some Freedom Fries as a snack on your flight?

I call it Scarebus, you immediately ask if I want "Freedom Fries".

What is the correlation between Scarebus and "Freedom Fries", because I dont see it.

Yeah, that sucks. My point is they provide great service and seating and are a majority-Airbus line.

Call it a hunch from your posting history.

Airbus is a French company. I think he was trying to imply that you were being a jingoist by flatly refusing Airbus, assuming you hated it because it was French.

If I were going to guess... I'd say he's assuming you are overly patriotic for refusing to fly on Airbus (a foreign-built plane).

Ah, gotchya.
So what we have is a big soup of posting history + Scarebus = Freedom Fires then. Well hell, makes perfect sense to me.

New planes are nicer than old planes. I think you experienced newer Airbuses and older Boeings.

Because just like "Freedom Fries", "Scarebus" is an idiotic attempt to persuade people using a catchy name but providing no substance whatsoever.

Correct, go fly on an American Airlines A300 if you think all Airbuses are in great condition.

It's the airline, not the plane that will make your trip enjoyable.

How about... it's the quality of your fellow passengers, not the airline, AND not the airplane, that make your trip enjoyable!

Well, unless they lose your bags or something. But my bigget peeve is ALWAYS ALWAYS the stupid dumbf*ck people on the plane around me. It's like ppl suddenly become more obnoxious having passed through the main entry door.

Well, aside from the fact that many of their planes don't have a manual fuel dump valve, I agree. It's not a concern for me, though I do wonder why they chose not to provide one.

I just cant get over the fear that at some point during the flight a Scarebus will show its true colors and heritage and decide to surrender to gravity.

If you'll excuse me now, we're going out for lunch. Ameri-burgers and Freedom Fries. ;)
