I won't argue that.

But with that said, despite no way of truly knowing, I'd put my money on Tyson's punch psi being higher than Big George's. No doubt that Foreman threw a club at his opponents but it was all upper body. Tyson threw punches from from the floor up, with a ton of lower body strength behind them. And he threw them far quicker than George did. I loved Foreman as a boxer though (the good years). He was a beast.

Too bad the heavyweight division absolutely sucks and has for years.

tyson was brutally fast. other boxers look like slow motion compared to him.

Man i love Foreman. i have seen some of his older fights. he was great. heck even his later fights were great. he woudl cover up then BOOM! i would always wonder why people didnt get out of his way. his punch looked so slow.

with Tyson he would throw that uppercut out of nowwhere and knock people out.

sigh to bad boxing sucks now. sure there are some good fights every now and then (i try to watch friday night fights and tuesday night fights). but i get tired of the cheating going on with the scorecards etc.

And I do think Tyson could kick Ali's a$$ when he was in his prime.
No way, Buster Douglas showed that a Boxer with a great jab would take Tyson apart and Ali had the best jab ever for a Heavyweight. I think the only Heavyweight in his prime that might have been able to beat Ali in his prime was Joe Louis.

Tyson's biggest strength was the fear of God he put into his opponents. Ali was afraid of no man and would have boxed Tyson silly.

Almost all of the Tyson highlight reel is him mowing down cannon fodder. He's overrated, particularly by people who only know him from knockout compilations.

The early title fights where he was finally facing legitimate competition like Spinks and Berbick, you could see the terror in their eyes before the opening bell. They were completely psyched out. The first semi-decent boxer he faced who didn't give a rat's ass about Mike Tyson happened to be Buster Douglas, whose mind was about a million miles away due to the death of his mother, and what happened there...

BTW, Tyson freely admits his career ended that night.

Finally, someone who speaks the truth. Almost all of Mike KO's were over people with poor records and if they did have a winning record, it was from beating up trashcans.

I'll give him Trevor Berbick, but that POS Michael Spinks walked into the ring looking for a payday and a place to lay down.

I just can't see that. Tyson's body punches were enough to knock most out. "Rope-a-Dope" would've been sheer suicide.

Tyson's biggest strength's were power and speed. His body shot combo's are unequaled. Not to mention his upper cut etc.
Ali in his Prime didn't need to use the "Rope-a-Dope", he danced and jabbed like a Middleweight with the power of a Heavyweight. He would have knocked Tyson out within 5 rounds if they both fought each other in their prime.

only chance tyson would have had is to knock Ali out in the first 3 rounds (wich i highly doubt woudl have happened). if Ali survives that the tyson is done. ali was just to damn good and had the stamina to continue a long fight into the latter rounds.

tyson was a 3 round fighter.

My 90 year old grandmother can knock out Ali now.

I think if you got hit in the head as many times as ALI did you would probably be in the same condition ;)

Actually, you could probably count just with two hands how many times Ali took a hard punch in the face during his career. He has parkinsons, which they say is unrelated to his boxing career.

That's bullshit toward the later part of his career he was a punching bag and you can't say getting punched in the head is good...well at least for some people ;)

Ausm

Which fights was he a "punching bag" in? Certainly there has to be video of these fights.

Pick either of the Holyfield fights, the Lennox Lewis fight, the Danny Williams fight or the Kevin McBride to watch him get beaten on like a rented mule.

And most likely, he would have been KTFO if he had had the balls to enter the ring with Riddick Bowe, David Tua, Ike Ibeabuchi or Ray Mercer. He dodged them all.
