If you have a couple of minutes and use Steam, please please answer my survey!!

Done but I have a comment.

Maybe I am not understanding what you are looking to do with this survey but why would you stipulate that a person must use Steam to fill out the survey? Doesn't this introduce a bias in favor of Steam?

For example, your question "Does it bother you that there is no physical representation of the games you buy?" It seems to me, if someone is using Steam they all will most likely answer "No" making that question a little pointless.

A person might have checked out Steam, decided not to use it and continued to shop retail. Wouldn't that persons opinion be useful? Also, by retail, you seem to be focusing on B&M stores but wouldn't an online store like Amazon or Newegg, that sells a retail package also be valid alternative to Steam that offers advantages over a B&M store?

For the record, I use both Steam and retail package purchases.

Don't forget that Steam is required with certain games. Someone may use Steam simply because they have to after purchasing a game... not necessarily because they want to.

I thought the survey didn't touch enough on people's incessant deal buying during the holiday sales. It's interesting how many people buy a game that they really weren't interested with in the first place, but since it's on sale... it's just too tempting! :p

Done.

FWIW, I mostly use Steam for games you can't find in stores anywhere else. (X-COM, Pirates, stuff like that.)

It's better than supporting Gamestop.

Whoever put down "In my experience, retail tends to nearly always be cheaper than steam" either doesn't live in the United States or is a moron.

Depends. Used Gamestop purchases can be cheaper.

I (finally) bought Alpha Centauri on Amazon for $0.25 + S&H. Maybe they're thinking mail order = retail.
