Thinking of upgrading but may wait 'till next year........... Not sure. Between my current sys and the one listed, what would be the appoximate OVERALL perfomance gain ?

Okay, that saves me untill next year then.

Given the 5 components listed, what will a rig look like a year from now? Given a $1500.00 spending limit :clock:
example:
Intel dual core 4.2
Intel 955
etc. etc


Keep it halfway serious given future release dates/roadmaps

I think maybe you need to look at spending some money on an AMD system. That crazy ass dualcore you are looking to go with in a few years, that's a waste of money I hate to tell you. Try going with an AMD setup, I think you will appreciate it once you make the switch, not that I am opposed to Intel, but it's just alot of money to spend unless you are looking at it to be used for specific needs.....it's just not worth it.

Unless the only thing you do is encode Divx movies, do not buy an intel processor. More performance + less money = AMD.
