I have *both* the LCS-418 Edge flat panel speakers and the LCS-424 Pulse speakers (both bought as hot deals, for < $20, of course), and IMHO they're both great for the average user. If you're a true audiophile, you'll find plenty to criticize about each of these. But for great gaming and music, these both rock. I'm using these on my two systems while I wait for that perfect deal on the Logitech Z-560s. I noticed that Office Depot was clearancing the Edge model about a month ago in a couple of Ohio stores -- I think it was about $18.

I bought the Labtec Pulse-424's from BB a year ago for $54 incl. tax. I absolutely love these speakers and they were more than worth the $54 I paid for them, so 20 bucks is a steal. I say get 2 pairs and youll have a 64W 4.2 speaker system. The bass from the subwoofer shakes my walls and everytime I put something on top of thesub, it shakes and falls off. Its like a mini-Z560 system :p

Alright guys, let me re-collect myself here. These 424 speakers are awesome. 20w going to that sub for ~30 shipped is enough to get the cops called to my house. It takes a lot to impress me. I was a bit skeptical, after all I have a 450w powered 15" JBL sub and 2 15" floor standing speakers with those getting 150w. I can't believe 20w can shake my walls and come in CRYSTAL CLEAR! Again, unbelievable!

Ok, Ok. After this and many other threads I finally broke down and bought the 424's for $31.85 shipped. Even though they are referbs, they are packaged and look brand new. One thing I like is they have a headphone jack right on the front. My wife complains about the volume of my speakers when I'm gaming, so I started using headphones. It's a pain having to reach around back of my computer and swap the plug from speakers to headphones, so this will be great! They arrived to day and I'm about to head home and see how they work. I'll let you know if I aree whith the reviews and posts.

I still have those form the emusic deal in the good ole days of the dotcoms, and its time to upgrade.

So far so good. They said refubs, but they look new and are wrapped in plastic. They sound great. My last set were Altec Lansings with push button volume controls on top of the sattelite and this wore out. They also didn't have the headphone jack. The sub-woofer was smaller than I expeted, but that means I have more room. The only bad thing I see so far is the cord connecting the satallites is hard wired and pretty short. I have to run it over my monitor instead of around the back of the monitor and computer, but since I won't have to keep pulling my case out to reach the sound plug to swap from speakers to headphones, this shouldn't be an issue.

With my order shipped notice, was a code for $5 off my next order and it doesn't stipulate any restrictions. If anyone needs this code, PM me.

The 424s are a great budget set of speakers, you won't be dissappointed. I picked them up for $10 after rebate last summer, some bastards got these for free.

Out of curiosity has anyone tried to pick them up directly and save on shipping? Noticed they're in Hayward, might be a good deal for us Bay Area peeps.

Hey guys,
I though the reason for the forums was to help others? How about we try to post the $10 off code since some of us are having trouble finding it.
THX.

A "Junior" member has to tell a "Golden" member what one the VERY BASIC rules for this form is. A very good illustration of why the World is getting so screwed up, too many are "too busy" to
A: read the rules
B: stop at the red light
C: park in a parking spot
D: not park in someone else's spot
C: do their own work

I salute you igell, good post. :)

There is a $10 off coupon on the Labtec Pulse 424 Multimedia Speaker and Subwoofer Set.

You just have to search around. :)
