MAC: How do you feel PC? Tell me about your feelings and how difficult it must be to be a PC and crashing all the time? How do you feel? What are you feeling right now PC?
PC: I feel fine MAC, just what is your problem.
MAC: Do I not make you feel good by being in my presence?
PC: *PUNCH* Just what is your problem MAC? Describe it.
MAC (toothless): iss no pbblom

It's Mac, not MAC. Mac isn't an acronym.

Media Access Control...sorry, I can't type it without capitalizing it as an acronym, context understood.

I didn't watch the ads, so I'm just going by the summaries. My take -
1. Vista IS a pain in the ass. I'd rather use XP any day, and I have one FREE copy of Vista Business and one OEM copy of Vista Home (don't remember if it's premium or basic). I used Vista for a few months before giving up and going back to XP.
2. Transferring files is a great service. Best Buy will charge you a lot of money for that, even if you buy your computer from them.
3. Pizza box = WTF.

Would you like to try Mojave? :)

Still, there are TONS of college students buying macs these days. I've seen more of them than any other laptop

Yep. Pretty much every here here has a Macbook.

Oh well, good marketing on Apple's behalf.

Bill Gates > any apple smug.

Almost everything I could ever want in the foreseeable future runs on XP. Vista is more of a shot in the dark, and I fail to see the advantage in upgrading.

Never mind that, like all versions of Windows, it's woefully inefficient/slow when compared to the competition.

My view: Apple and Microsoft come out with something standard and market it like the coming of every religious deity ever believed in simultaneously. Both will somehow lock you into their system and proceed to assrape you whenever they feel like it.

The best alternative out there is linux IMO, and for the most part it's all I use. It's stable (depending on the distro), free, fast even with flashy graphics, and has a very large collection of free high quality software. If I don't like the way it does something, I can change it and teach myself about linux in the process. Hell I could even dive into the kernel if I wanted to.

However, wine and other emulators can't run everything, so I still have to dual boot to play most of my games and use some university-required software. :(

One big advantage: Vista 64 with 6+GB of RAM and "superfetch." My computer has never run faster than when I added 4GB for ~70 bucks after upgrading to Vista 64. Everything I typically use sits in RAM so there's no HDD loading even when I switch between a lot of programs and games.

MAC: No, not enough to do that cool shit.

This is fun, let's keep it up. I actually wanted my girl to get a mac laptop. Until I went to the store and realized they wanted 2000 dollars for a 700 dollar laptop. GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bose would be envious.

PC: It's OK, MAC. You're still cool.
MAC: Yes I am!
PC: Are you really, think about it?
MAC: No, no I'm not.
PC: It's OK MAC, have some of my anti-depressant cream. That will be 25 dollars.
MAC: Thanks! You're so cool PC.

Well, maybe a $1200 laptop. They do use top notch components- premium LCD, cool "no plug" power supply, the casing is sealed to make it dust proof, etc. Sony doesn't even have a lot of this stuff until you get into their $1500 range.
