These 2 Sony dvd camcorders

Which of these Sony DVD camcorders is the best deal and why, "other than price"??

Prices from local retailers. **Approx.**

Sony DCR-DVD205 (around $500.00)
Sony DCR-DVD305 (around $600.00)

camcorder with harddrive man, recording to dvd is lame as it gets. its like the floppy disc camera of a few years ago. just think about it, 17gb for minidv tape vs 1.4gb minidvd? somethings gotta give😛

Who does'nt know to type something into Google and get your answer? Searching may be getting more difficult but it's still easy! You should know this by now RossMan.

I have the review sites you listed in favorites among 10 others in this category at least. I want more info! I'm not one to buy a product just because someone points me to a website he or she has within his Favorite Folder **LOL**

Compared to a similarly spec'd MiniDV camera the quality of MPEG-2 based cameras (like those that record to MiniDVDs and HDDs) is pretty lacking.

DVD camcorders suck they compress on the fly, MiniDV Pwns DVD cams, SONY or not. Do yourself a favor and listen to Rossman and do your homework.
