These 2 DVD recorders with 160gb hard drive

Been thinking of getting a dvd recorder w/hard drive for a while now and had a question about these two models.

Other than the TV Guide On Screen 8-day program guide (listings for local broadcast and cable TV on the SONY, I can't see that big of a diff for these two units for the price! But the JVC is Picture cd/Jpeg capable where the SONY is not. What do you guys think?

Sony- $799.99
Jvc - $449.99

Diff- $350.00

Why such a Big diff in price?

I think Sony overprices their merchandise.

It's not bad, but not really any better than JVC either IMO.

The Sony has component inputs but I don't think that is worth $350 price difference. Sony is hugely overpriced anyways.

Well the Sony is a does use +RW media also. If you are recording directly to disk, the +R format is better than the -R format. But if you're recording to the HD, then it won't matter.
