Thermoengine not flat? Help???!!!

Having probs with Thermoengine. For some reason, it doesn't seem like it sits snugly enough to the core. Is there a way to get it more secure?

I've lapped it to almost a mirror finish, use AS2, but the temps seem too high. I'm pretty positive that the HSF isn't snug enough.

CPU temp with generic HSF is typically around 50/51C during the day (30C ambient). I know this can't be right. Thermoengine runs 49C with (20C ambient). I have the stock fan but that shouldn't explain the diff in temps.

Anyone please help???
