Question Thermistors

If you have the thermistors, plug them in and see if Aida64 picks them up.

Do you NEED to monitor the temp of anything not already monitored? I suppose VRM section of mobo if overclocking, SSD, or strange/low-flow case design?

I usually just put a new build, or new component added to one, under a stress test, check the temps during the test, then button it up and forget about it, except things that need fans and might have a fan failure but generally that's GPU and CPU, both having temp sensing already.
